Two Stoneware Canning Jars with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA and/or WV origin, circa 1880, one of semi-ovoid form with semi-squared "wax sealer" rim, decorated with three straight freehand stripes, probably Palatine, WV origin; paired with larger canning jar of tapering form with semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, decorated with three wavy freehand stripes, Western PA origin. Smaller with a large in-the-firing flake to top of rim. Larger in excellent, essentially as-made condition with a minor in-the-firing ping to front. H (of smaller) 8 1/8".
