Two Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1880, a jar of semi-ovoid form with semi-rounded rim and a tapering canning jar with semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, each decorated with two straight freehand stripes flanking a wavy stripe. Shorter in excellent, essentially as-made condition with a shallow in-the-firing chip at base. Taller with a small chip to interior of rim and a small piece of adhered clay at base. H (of shorter) 8".
