Two Stoneware Canning Jars with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Palatine, WV origin, circa 1880, each of tapering, semi-ovoid form with semi-rounded "wax sealer" rims, one decorated with four straight freehand stripes, the other decorated with three straight and wavy freehand stripes. Shorter with a 7/8" rim chip, in otherwise excellent condition. Taller with a small chip to interior of rim and a 3 1/4" vertical hairline at base on front, descending a short distance onto underside. H (of taller) 7 7/8".
