Two Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA and/or WV origin, circa 1880, a tapering canning jar with semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, decorated with four freehand stripes, Western PA origin, paired with a larger semi-ovoid jar with semi-rounded rim, decorated with four freehand stripes, Palatine, WV origin. Shorter with chipping to interior of rim and inner wax sealer rim. Larger with an approximately 5 1/2" X-shaped hairline on underside, part of which extends a short distance onto base of jar. H (of shorter) 8 1/4".
