Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Leaf Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BURGER. / ROCHESTER," NY State origin, circa 1860, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with three finely-executed leaves conjoined at the stem. Slip-trailed "4" to shoulder. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Provenance: Crocker Farm, Inc., March 23, 2019, lot 34. A 3/4" in-the-firing iron ping to shoulder, beside a faint 2 1/2" Y-shaped line, not visible on interior. Some minor staining. A minor 5/8" worn area to reverse end of one handle. H 11 1/4".
