Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Book Flask, Westerwald, Germany origin, 19th century, slab-built form with applied spout, featuring the incised inscriptions, "KELR" and "RorK," surrounded by impressed hearts. Impressed circles to binding, incised pages, and faux lock on front. Cobalt highlights throughout. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a small piece of adhered clay to one side and a minor in-the-firing line to underside. H 4 1/2".
