Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Inkwell, Northeastern U.S. origin, mid 19th century, cylindrical form with tooled top and narrow, raised mouth, decorated around the top edge with cobalt dashes. Large restored section to mouth. A small, oval line in mouth. Salt residue to shoulder. Two minor in-the-firing nicks to shoulder. A 7/8" x 3/4" flake to underside at edge. A narrow in-the-firing chip to underside along edge. A 3/4" U-shaped line at base. Diam. 3 3/4" ; H 2 1/8".
