×Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Advertising Jugs, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1875, both of cylindrical form, one stamped "C. HAIDLE & CO / UNION POTTERY, / NEWARK, N.J.," featuring the slip-trailed advertising, "Kane & Mangels / 24 & 26 Union St. / Brooklyn / N.Y.;" the other featuring the slip-trailed name, "Strong + Van Ness," below a star. Brooklyn jug with a restored spout chip, later blue added to maker's mark, a minor in-the-firing ping to shoulder, and light surface wear. Other jug with crazing / tight in-the-firing cracks to base and spout. H (of Brooklyn jug) 14 1/2".
