Two Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crocks, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1875, both of cylindrical form, one with brushed floral decoration, stamped "J. M. PRUDEN, / MANUFACTURER, / ELIZABETH-N.J," the other with bird motif, stamped "HAXSTUN & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N. Y. Pruden crock with restoration around base, numerous rim chips, a short sealed and colored crack from rim on reverse, blue added to maker's mark, and some exfoliation to underside. Haxstun crock with exfoliation to reverse, lesser exfoliation elsewhere, a rim chip and other minor rim chips, and staining to surface. H (of Haxstun crock) 10 1/4".
