One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA," NY State origin, circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Chipping to proper right handle. A chip to proper left handle. Some in-the-firing contact marks to surface. Minor rim wear. H 7 1/2".
