Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Double Bird Decoration, Stamped "HAXSTUN, OTTMAN & CO. / FORT EDWARD, NY," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of crested birds perched on a forked tree limb. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A chip to proper left handle. Water glass staining to surface. H 11 3/8".
