Unusual Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Stylized Cobalt Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1825, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and spout, brush-decorated with a stylized design possibly representing a buoy or holy water font. Cobalt highlights to capacity mark and handle terminals. Includes early wooden stopper. A 1 1/2" flake to underside. A few glazed-over base chips. A minor in-the-firing chip to interior of spout. Some minor in-the-firing pings to surface. H 14".
