Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, New England origin, second half 19th century, both of cylindrical form with squared spouts, a one-and-a-half-gallon jug with large slip-trailed floral spray, stamped "J. NORTON & CO / BENNINGTON VT:," circa 1860; paired with a two-gallon jug with large cobalt-script "2," stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER, MASS.," circa 1858-1877. Smaller jug with a 3/4" sliver-shaped hole on side of jug, a 7/8" flake to side of handle, a 2 1/4" hairline from spout on reverse, a minor spout nick, a minor in-the-firing ping below decoration, and light staining. Two-gallon jug with a 1" x 3/4" flake to side of spout, a 5/8" flake to top of spout, a minor chip to interior of spout, two small in-the-firing pings to front below "2," and light staining.
