Six-Gallon Cobalt-Banded Stoneware Churn, Stamped "WHITES.UTICA.NY," 1876, ovoid churn with flared rim and applied lug handles, decorated throughout with incised and cobalt-highlighted banding bearing the large date "1876" with flourishes. Filled 2" rim chip above left handle. 4 1/2" hairline crack from rim on right side of reverse. Minor firing flaws including fry to cobalt. H 18 3/8".
