Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt accents to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 7/8" chip to exterior of rim, a miniscule nick to exterior of rim, and a shallow 1" chip to interior of rim. A minor chip to front end of proper right handle. Minor staining. Minor surface wear to reverse. H 13 1/4".
