Six-Quart Stoneware Batter Pail with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "E.W. FARRINGTON & Co / ELMIRA, N.Y.," circa 1887-1893, ovoid form with tubular pouring spout, handle at base on reverse, and applied clay "ears" with wood-and-wire bail handle, decorated with a brushed daisy motif on the reverse. A large X-shaped crack to reverse. Two small chips to interior of rim. Two small chips to tip of spout. A tiny chip and nick to handle at base. H 9 3/4".
