Rare Molded Redware Tray or Soap Dish, attributed to Jacob Heart, Chambersburg, PA, circa 1840, rectangular form with canted corners, scalloped edge, paneled walls, and crosshatched interior, the interior and exterior decorated with splashed manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. The first example of this form by Heart that we have seen. Very nice condition with a few minor rim chips, a tripod mark to interior and underside, and tight surface lines to underside, not visible on interior. L 5 3/4" ; W 4 1/4" ; H 1".
