Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Flower Basket Decoration, Stamped "W-A-LEWIS / GALES-VILLE N-Y", circa 1858, cylindrical jar with tooled rim and applied lug handles, the front decorated with a floral spray including stylized berries and grape cluster, emanating from a cross-hatched urn. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Provenance: Crocker Farm, Inc., October 28, 2017, lot 339. Two drilled holes in underside. A few shallow chips to interior of rim. Wear to inner rim for lid. H 11 1/4".
