×Very Rare Glazed Redware Jug-Form Presentation Bank, Inscribed "Made by C.F. Bell / Nov 6 1895 / Leroy C. Bell," Waynesboro, PA origin, 1895, ovoid jug with tapered spout and narrow handle, the surface decorated with sponged manganese and covered in a clear lead glaze. Base incised "Made by C.F. Bell," referring to Waynesboro, PA potter, Charles Frederick Bell (1840-1911), son of John Bell (1800-1880). Underside incised "Nov 6 1895 / Leroy C. Bell," indicating it was made for C.F. Bell's nephew, Leroy C. Bell (1887-1943, son of potter Upton M. Bell), when he was eight years old. A fine example of signed Bell pottery made for a member of the family.
