Redware Jar, Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA, circa 1840-1880, ovoid jar with tooled, semi-rounded rim molding, the surface decorated with sponged manganese over a mottled orange-to-olive ground and covered in a clear lead glaze. Lesser-seen jar form by this maker. Provenance: From a forty-five year VA collection. Excellent condition with very minor wear. H 5 1/8".
