Rare Diminutive Glazed Redware Mug, Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA origin, circa 1840-1880, cylindrical mug with tooled rim and footed base, the surface decorated with sponged manganese over a light orange ground and covered in a clear lead glaze. Underside impressed with John Bell maker's mark. Exceptional size. Provenance: From a forty-five-year VA collection. Very nice condition with short surface lines to underside, one extending a short distance onto base, a small rim chip, and minor wear. H 3 1/8".
