Manganese-Decorated Redware Cuspidor, attributed to John Bell, Chambersburg or Waynesboro, PA, circa 1830-1835, cylindrical form with flaring rim, recessed top, and carved circular opening at shoulder, the lead-glazed surface decorated with manganese sponging over cream-colored slip. Base chips. Glaze flakes to rim. Diam. 8 1/8" ; H 4".
