Manganese-Glazed Redware Jar, Stamped "I. BELL," John Bell, Waynesboro, PA, circa 1840, ovoid jar with footed base and coved rim molding, the surface covered in a dark-brown lead-and-manganese glaze. An in-the-firing matte area to glaze on reverse. Chips and wear to rim. Some wear to raised molding at base of rim. A small, smooth base chip. H 5 5/8".
