Rare Monumental Salt-Glazed Stoneware Urn, PA origin, possibly J. Swank & Co., Johnstown, PA, circa 1875, ovoid vase with footed base and angular open handles, the surface covered in a varied salt glaze over a mottled light-brown to steel-gray ground. The vase's distinctive color suggests it was made at the Swank pottery in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Exceptional size and wonderful form. Provenance: Crocker Farm, Inc., Spring 2022, lot 170. Excellent condition with some light traces of blue paint to exterior surface, heavier remnants of blue paint on interior, and a minor 2 1/2" line at base. H 27".
