Stoneware Canning Jar with Cobalt-Stenciled Dog Motif, Stenciled "PALATINE POTTERY CO / PALATINE / W.VA," circa 1875, tapering jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring a stenciled design of a standing dog surrounded by Palatine Pottery Company maker's stenciling. A small chip to interior of rim. A minor chip to inner rim for lid. Some in-the-firing chips (contact marks) to surface. H 10 1/2".
