×Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Maysville, KY Advertising, Western PA origin circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and inner "wax sealer" rim, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "McCarthey / & / Bayless / Maysville. / Ky.," flanked by stenciled foliate motifs. Some faintness to stenciling. A curving crack descending 4 1/2" from rim on jar's left side. A minor in-the-firing base chip and two tiny base nicks. Shallow chipping around interior of rim. A few chips to inner wax sealer rim. H 6 5/8".
