Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Dog Doorstop, PA or WV origin, fourth quarter 19th century, molded figure of a reclining dog with hand-incised facial features and open mouth with incised teeth and applied tongue. Surface covered in a reddish-brown Albany slip glaze. Related to the dog doorstops of Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, but possibly Jane Lew, West Virginia. Loss to tongue. A small chip to eye and nose. L 6 7/8".
