HAMILTON / & CO. / GREENSBORO, / PA," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring James Hamilton maker's stenciling within a stenciled shield. Freehand stripe decoration to shoulder and base. Base with stenciled "2" flanked by stenciled foliate devices. Very nice condition with a shallow 5/8" chip to interior of rim, a minor chip to interior of rim, and a 1 1/4" line at base, extending 1 1/2" onto underside, and some light staining. H 11 5/8".
