Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt House Decoration, Stamped "A.O. WHITTEMORE . HAVANA NY," circa 1870, cylindrical crock with applied lug handles and tooling to shoulder and rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a house with five windows, two chimneys, and a door, situated on an elaborate, stylized ground. Cobalt accents to maker's mark and capacity mark. A thin 2 1/4" crack from rim on front. Light staining. Some fry to decoration. H 8 3/4".
