One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H.C. SMITH / ALEXA," Alexandria, VA origin, circa 1835, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, brush-decorated with a series of tulips around the shoulder. Provenance: From a forty-five-year VA collection. Excellent condition with a few minor in-the-firing pings, minor surface wear, minor staining, and two minor nicks to bottom edge. H 10 1/2".
