SMITH / ALEXA / D.C.," circa 1835, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and rounded rim, brush-decorated with a large horizontal tulip motif across the front and three foliate devices on the reverse. Excellent size and color. A flake to interior base, leading to two small holes, one of which is filled. Otherwise excellent condition with a minor rim chip. H 6 7/8".
