×Three-Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1860, cylindrical cooler with tooled shoulder, squared rim, applied lug handles, and circular bung hole, decorated on both sides with a two-stemmed clover plant. Cobalt band to shoulder. Cobalt highlights to bung hole and handle terminals, along with a curved line of cobalt underneath each handle. A 3" inverted Y-shaped crack from rim on front. A 2 1/4" crack from rim on right side of cooler. A few rim chips. Tight cracks in underside, partially visible on interior, including one extending horizontally onto base, another extending onto underside of bunghole, and another extending 7" diagonally up reverse. Small chips to interior edge of bunghole. H 14".
