Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Standing Deer Decoration, Stamped "EDMANDS & CO," Charlestown, MA origin, circa 1860, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a deer with turned head and swag-decorated body, standing atop a stylized, scrolled ground. Excellent decoration with bold color. A faint 8 1/2" hairline across underside, extending 1" up base. A few shallow chips to interior of rim. Some light fry to cobalt. A 3/4" surface line to exterior of rim. A minor in-the-firing iron ping to underside and reverse. H 9 3/8".
