Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Cherries Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG," PA origin, circa 1870, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with a large cluster of three cherries hanging from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. An exceptionally small size to the vessel for this decoration. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 11 1/2".
