×One-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, wide, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a horizontal tulip motif. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Desirable, lesser-seen Harrisburg form. Excellent condition with some light fry to cobalt and light staining to reverse.
