One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J.W. COWDEN," Harrisburg, PA, circa 1861-1865, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim, tooled shoulder, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a daisy blossom underscored by six flower buds joined at the stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. A 4" sealed crack from rim on front and a 6" sealed crack from rim on reverse. H 6 7/8".
