Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Wreath Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with footed base and wide collar with flattened rim, brush-decorated with a wreath at the midsection. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Desirable form and size, featuring exceptional color. A restored 9" crack from rim on proper left side, beside a 2" restored circular area. Otherwise excellent condition. H 11 7/8".
