×Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG .PA," circa 1865, ovoid pitcher, brush-decorated with a hanging tulip motif. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Desirable form and size. A 4" crack from rim on proper left side of pitcher. A tight spider crack from rim on reverse, partially colored, including a filled and colored 1 1/2" wedge at rim. A 7 1/2" crack from rim on reverse. A 2 1/2" Y-shaped line near base on front. Two small base chips on reverse. Staining to surface. H 12 1/4".
