Stoneware Jug with Incised Floral Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, early 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with an incised and cobalt-highlighted design of a flower blossom with alternating elliptical and scalloped petals. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A large spider crack to proper right side of jug, extending onto front. Glazed-over base chips. Staining to surface. A 1 1/4" in-the-firing chip near base on reverse. H 17".
