Scarce Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Star Decoration, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / NEW -YORK," Manhattan, NY, circa 1820, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a star on the front and reverse. Cobalt highlights along tops of handles. Exceptional size. Interior of rim with wear and a few very minor chips. An approximately 1 1/2" diagonal hairline from rim on reverse. H 7".
