×Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Impressed Decoration, Stamped "CORLEARS HOOK," Thomas Commeraw, Corlears Hook, Manhattan, NY, early 19th century, ovoid jug with footed base and heavily-tooled spout, decorated with an impressed and cobalt-highlighted drape-and-tassel motif resembling a clamshell, flanked by additional vertically-stamped drapes. Impressed with "CORLEARS HOOK" maker's mark below. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A 4" x 1 1/4" heavily-chipped area to base. Tight cracks throughout bottom half of jug and underside. A 7/8" in-the-firing iron ping near base on reverse. Additional small in-the-firing iron pings to surface. In-the-firing fissures to handle terminals. H 14 1/2".
