One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW YORK," circa 1810, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and tapering, heavily-tooled spout, decorated with brushed daubs around the maker's mark and highlighting the handle terminals. Includes early wooden stopper. Hairlines to underside. Base chips. An in-the-firing surface chip (contact mark) to proper left side. Some in-the-firing iron pings to body and handle. Mottling to surface. H 12 1/4".
