Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA, circa 1985, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied clay face including kaolin eyes with cobalt-slip pupils, ears, nose, chin, and crooked mouth with kaolin teeth. Surface covered in a mottled olive-colored alkaline glaze. Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature. Professionally-restored break around shoulder of jug, including a break and some restoration to handle. A small piece of adhered clay to shoulder. H 10 1/4".
