Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Face Jug, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA, circa 1985, ovoid jug with hand-modeled and applied clay face including kaolin eyes with cobalt-slip pupils, ears, nose, chin, and open mouth with kaolin teeth. Surface covered in a mottled olive-colored alkaline glaze. Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some in-the-firing residue to bottom edge. H 10 1/2".
