Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "T.F. REPPERT. / SUCCESSOR TO / JAS. HAMILTON & CO / GREENSBORO. PA.," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-squared rim, featuring desirable T.F. Reppert "SUCCESSOR TO" stenciling along with two small stenciled tulips above. Freehand stripe decoration to shoulder and base. Base with stenciled "3" flanked by flourishes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent condition with some light staining and minor surface wear. H 13 3/4".
