Very Rare and Fine Miniature Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Western Pennsylvania origin, third quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with two delicately-leafed tulips with large blossoms emanating from a dash at the base. A small X-shaped surface line on reverse, not visible on interior and likely in-the-firing. An in-the-firing horizontal surface line with crazing along midsection of front, not visible on interior. H 3 1/8".
