Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES. / GREENSBORO. / PA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with Hamilton & Jones maker's stenciling accented with small stenciled tulips, scrollwork, and flourishes. Freehand straight and wavy stripes above. Base with stenciled "3" flanked by stenciled flourishes, above a freehand stripe. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Very nice condition. Minor imperfections including small chips to handles. H 13 1/2".
