Three-Gallon Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Impressed Eagle-on-Cannon Motif, Stamped "CHARLESTOWN," Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, circa 1812-1827, highly-ovoid jar with footed base, open loop handles, and heavy tooling to shoulder and collar, decorated with an impressed design on a spread-winged eagle seated atop a cannon. Iron-oxide dip at base. Restoration to rim and collar. A few base chips. H 14".
