Rare Stoneware Jar with Vertical Handles and Cobalt Watchspring Decoration, Manhattan, NY or Cheesequake, NJ origin, fourth quarter 18th century, ovoid jar with footed base, heavily-tooled shoulder, and applied vertical handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a slip-trailed watchspring design accented with a scalloped line above and below. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Significant restoration to surface. Base chips. Small rim chips. H 12".
