Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK STONEWARE CO.," Ft. Edward, NY origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a leaf. Cobalt accents to maker's mark and capacity mark. A long horizontal crack at base extending from reverse to front. Additionally, a in-the-firing horizontal crack and fissures at base on reverse and proper left side. A small amount of fry to cobalt. H 17 1/4".
